What We Fix in Raleigh Microwaves

The Raleigh team repairs over-the-range and built-in microwaves, and countertop models when a repair makes sense. If a microwave sparks or smells of burning, press Stop and do not run it again. If it smokes or catches fire, keep the door closed, cut the power at the plug or the breaker only if you can do so safely, and call 911. If the flames do not die out at once, get everyone out. These are labor ranges for common repairs. When a microwave runs but does not heat, the cause is usually one of the high-voltage parts: the diode, the capacitor, the magnetron, or the transformer. Parts and tax are extra, and the diagnosis settles the final labor.

  • Door switch: $120–$170
  • Fuse: $120–$150
  • Turntable motor: $130–$170
  • High-voltage diode: $150–$195
  • Cooling fan: $150–$195
  • Control board: $150–$210
  • Magnetron: $160–$210
  • High-voltage capacitor: $160–$210
  • High-voltage transformer: $195–$290
  • Over-the-range removal and reinstall: $60

Vlad was very helpful and polite, he fixed my fridge within 4 hours of when I called his company and when he told me the (reasonable) price upfront, it didn't jump up with hidden fees or add-ons. He was very considerate and clean, plus he cleaned out 10 years of dust from the system for free!

Process

How It Works

  1. Book Your Appointment

Pick an open 2-hour arrival window online or call the Raleigh team. Tell us the brand and what the appliance is doing so the technician brings the right parts.

  2. Diagnosis & Written Estimate

The technician looks the appliance over and tells you what failed. Then you get a written estimate on the spot, with parts and labor included.

  3. Your Decision

Nothing gets repaired until you approve the estimate. If you go ahead, the diagnostic fee is waived. If you don't, you pay the diagnostic fee and nothing else. And if a repair would run more than half the price of a new appliance, we'll tell you so you can decide.

  4. Repair & Warranty

If the technician has the part with them, the repair is usually done the same visit. If it has to be ordered, you pick a time for us to come back. Pay by card, cash, check, or tap. Labor is covered for 90 days.

Book a Diagnostic Visit

The diagnostic visit (service call) is $65 for most appliances and $85 for refrigerators, built-in ovens, and microwaves, per appliance. We inspect it, find the problem, and give you a repair estimate. The fee is waived when you approve the repair; if you decide not to repair, it's all you pay. Microwave Repair in Raleigh: Questions

How much is a microwave diagnostic in Raleigh?

A microwave diagnostic is $85. The fee is waived if you approve the repair, and it is the only charge if you decline. The written estimate gives the repair total before you decide.

How much does a microwave repair cost in Raleigh?

Labor for a door switch, a fuse, a turntable motor, a diode, or a cooling fan runs $120 to $195. A magnetron, a capacitor, or a control board runs $150 to $210, and a high-voltage transformer $195 to $290. Parts and tax are extra, and you see the written estimate before work begins. A failed diode or capacitor is often replaced with its partner, so the estimate may list both. The full list is in the Raleigh price list.

How fast can you get to my microwave?

Within a day or two in most weeks. Open 2-hour arrival windows are listed live on the booking page. Say whether the microwave is over the range or built in, and name the symptom, so the technician brings the likely parts.

Can you remove and reinstall my over-the-range microwave?

Yes. Removal and reinstallation is $60 in labor, for example when you are replacing the range or the backsplash, or repainting. The unit goes back up on its mounting plate, fastened as the installation manual requires. Mention it when you book, along with anything unusual about the mounting.

Do you repair GE, Whirlpool, and Frigidaire microwaves in Raleigh?

Yes. GE, Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Samsung, LG, and KitchenAid microwaves, built in or over the range, are all repaired by the Raleigh team, and the diagnostic is $85 whatever the brand. Give us the model number when you book so the technician can plan for the likely parts.

Do you serve Cary, Angier, and Youngsville?

Yes. Cary, Angier, and Youngsville are all covered by the Raleigh team, which serves 19 towns in Wake County and nearby parts of Durham, Orange, Johnston, Harnett, and Franklin counties. If your ZIP code appears in the list above, we come to you.

Is my countertop microwave worth repairing?

Probably not. A repair starts at $120 in labor plus parts, which can come close to the price of a new countertop microwave, and if you decline after the diagnosis you pay the $85 fee. Tell us the model when you book and we will say plainly whether a repair makes sense.

Can you check my range hood on the same visit?

Yes. Mention it when you book, and each appliance gets its own diagnostic fee. A separate hood is covered under range hood repair in Raleigh. The fan and light built into an over-the-range microwave are part of the microwave, so one diagnostic fee covers the whole microwave.
