Electrolux sits above Frigidaire in the same company, and the two share laundry and refrigeration platforms. The Electrolux versions add more electronics: steam systems in washers and dryers, touch controls and extra sensors in dishwashers, and wall ovens and induction cooktops that rely on relay boards, power modules and cooling fans.
An Electrolux diagnosis is therefore mostly about separating a failed board from a failed component, and our technician tests before ordering. Mechanical wear shows up too, mainly front-load washer bearings and spider arms. Many parts are shared with Frigidaire; the cooking electronics are more Electrolux-specific.
What breaks in Electrolux washers
- Roar or knocking in spin: the rear bearings on Electrolux front-loaders fail once water gets past the seal, and the cast aluminum spider on the back of the drum corrodes and can crack. Either way the tub assembly comes out, so we inspect both together.
- Stops with E41: the door is not detected closed, usually a worn door lock assembly.
- E21 or water left in the drum: a coin or hair tie in the drain pump.
- Musty smell and leaks: a torn door boot.

What breaks in Electrolux dryers
- No heat on electric models: a broken heating element, or a high-limit thermostat tripped by restricted exhaust airflow.
- No heat on gas models: worn gas valve coils that let the igniter glow, then drop out.
- Steam cycle not working: on Perfect Steam models, a clogged or failed steam water valve or nozzle.
- Thumping or squeal: worn drum rollers, the idler pulley or front drum glides.
- Stops early with damp clothes: moisture sensor bars coated with dryer sheet residue.
What breaks in Electrolux refrigerators
- Display shows SY CE: the main board and the user interface board have stopped talking, usually a failed board or a damaged wire running through the door hinge.
- Fresh food warm: an iced evaporator fan or a failed defrost thermostat, a pattern Electrolux shares with the Frigidaire platform.
- Ice maker stops or jams: on French door models, the ice compartment fan, the ice maker assembly or a frozen fill tube.
- Slow water dispenser: a frozen water line in the door or a weak inlet valve.

What breaks in Electrolux dishwashers
- Dishes cold and wet with i60: a burned-out wash heater or a failed temperature sensor ends the heating step, so detergent never activates properly.
- Long cycles or uneven results: the turbidity sensor that judges how dirty the water is gets coated or fails, and the control keeps adding rinse time.
- i30 and nothing runs: water in the base pan has lifted the flood float; we find the leak before resetting it.
- i10: water is not arriving in time, most often a partly closed supply valve, a kinked inlet hose or a clogged inlet screen, and less often a failed inlet valve.

What breaks in Electrolux wall ovens and ranges
- Wall oven dead or heating on its own: Electrolux wall ovens split control between a display board and a relay board, and a relay that sticks or will not close points to the relay board rather than the elements.
- Convection fan loud or stopped: the fan motor bearing wears, and the oven heats unevenly without it.
- F31 or wrong temperature: a shorted oven sensor.
- Locked after self-clean with F90: the door lock motor or switch.
- Gas oven not lighting: a weak bake igniter.

What breaks in Electrolux cooktops
- Induction zones dead in pairs: Electrolux induction cooktops usually drive two zones from one power module, so losing a pair points to that module, often after a cooling fan stops and the module overheats.
- Touch controls not responding: the touch control board, or a spill that leaves the glass reading as touched.
- Radiant element stuck on: a relay on the control board.
- Gas burner clicking: a spark module or switch wet from a boil-over; we dry and test it before replacing.

What breaks in Electrolux microwaves
- Runs but does not heat: a failed magnetron, diode or capacitor in Electrolux built-in and over-the-range models. We test all three, since one failure can damage the others.
- Drawer will not open or close: on built-in microwave drawers, the drawer motor, a gear or the drawer switch.
- Dead display: a blown line fuse or a failed door switch.
- Built-in unit shutting off: a stopped cooling fan lets it overheat.
- Keys ignored: a worn touch panel.

What breaks in Electrolux range hoods
- Blower stops or runs weak: the blower motor or its capacitor in Electrolux wall-mount, island and insert hoods.
- Touch controls dead: the electronic control board, often after grease and heat reach it.
- Fan noise: grease on the blower wheel throws it off balance; we clean or replace the wheel.
- Weak capture: grease-loaded baffle filters or a stuck backdraft damper.
- Lights out: the LED module or its driver, both of which age faster in the heat above a busy cooktop.

Parts and warranty on Electrolux repairs
We install OEM Electrolux parts only. Laundry and refrigeration parts are often shared with Frigidaire and widely stocked, so bearings, door boots, pumps and fans rarely hold up a repair. Wall oven relay boards, induction power modules and built-in microwave parts are more Electrolux-specific and can take longer to arrive. If your Electrolux is still under the manufacturer's warranty, contact Electrolux first, since that repair is theirs. Our repairs carry a 90-day labor warranty.
Electrolux codes we see most often
These are the display codes that bring us the most Electrolux calls. The wording is ours, and the meaning can shift between model years, so treat the table as a starting point: a technician confirms the cause with tests before any part is replaced.
| Code | Appliance | What it usually points to |
|---|---|---|
| E41 | Washer | Door not detected closed; door latch or lock assembly |
| E21 | Washer | Drain took too long; clogged pump filter, pump or hose |
| SY CE | Refrigerator | Main and display boards lost communication; board or door harness |
| i10 | Dishwasher | Water supply too slow or missing; inlet valve, supply or hose |
| i30 | Dishwasher | Leak detected in the base; anti-flood float raised |
| i60 | Dishwasher | Water not heating as expected; heater or temperature sensor |
| F31 | Oven & range | Oven temperature sensor reads shorted; sensor or pinched wiring |
| F90 | Oven & range | Door lock not reaching position; lock motor, switch or wiring |
