What We Did

We found that one coil in the valve had failed. The water supply had to be shut off at the wall tap. We replaced the valve assembly because the failed coil is part of it, not something that can be corrected by adjusting the washer's fill settings. With the replacement in place, we tested the washer after the repair. A homeowner dealing with a fill fault should turn off the supply at the wall rather than rely on the washer's controls to stop the water. Leave the supply off and stop using the washer until the fault is fixed, since water entering unchecked can overflow the tub.
