GE Washer Not Draining. Inverter Board Repair in Garner

Brief description

The GE washer sometimes stopped before finishing, leaving water in the tub, and on those occasions it would not move into spin despite repeated attempts. At other times it completed normally, which can make an intermittent electrical or drive-control issue harder to catch than a constant failure. Drain and spin depend on the washer operating the pump and turning the drum through the proper parts of the cycle. If the control cannot detect motor rotation, it may prevent spin from starting, though testing is needed to identify the cause.

What We Did

We individually activated and tested each operation. The first test passed, but on the second the washer would not enter spin. Among six stored fault codes, one indicated that the controller was not detecting motor rotation. We cleared the fault history and ran the washer again, and the same fault returned, helping pinpoint the intermittent problem. We replaced the inverter board, which controls power to the drive motor and helps regulate drum movement. During verification testing, the washer entered spin without hesitation and reached peak RPM.

Our Working Process

  1. Book Your Appointment

Pick an open 2-hour arrival window online or call the Raleigh team. Tell us the brand and what the appliance is doing so the technician brings the right parts.

  2. Diagnosis & Written Estimate

The technician looks the appliance over and tells you what failed. Then you get a written estimate on the spot, with parts and labor included.

  3. Your Decision

Nothing gets repaired until you approve the estimate. If you go ahead, the diagnostic fee is waived. If you don't, you pay the diagnostic fee and nothing else. And if a repair would run more than half the price of a new appliance, we'll tell you so you can decide.

  4. Repair & Warranty

If the technician has the part with them, the repair is usually done the same visit. If it has to be ordered, you pick a time for us to come back. Pay by card, cash, check, or tap. Labor is covered for 90 days.
