What We Did

We diagnosed the controls and confirmed that the main control board was supplying the required 12 V DC to the user interface board, but the interface did not respond. We replaced the user interface board, and the dryer powered on with the control panel operating normally. At the customer's request, we also checked drying performance, which had been working well, and checked airflow at the exterior vent. We found water in the flexible transition duct and drained and cleaned it, then removed a heavy lint blockage from the dryer's internal exhaust duct. Airflow returned through the dryer and transition duct, but there was still no airflow at the outdoor vent, indicating a remaining blockage in the home's vent system. Vent cleaning is recommended before use because the remaining restriction can put the new interface board at risk.
