What We Did

We tested the voltage at the valve while it was operating and again when it was supposed to close. Power was being cut off, but the valve sometimes remained open. That showed the valve was sticking rather than being held open by a continued electrical command. We replaced it to address the unwanted water flow. After the replacement, we tested the dishwasher's operation. Cutting power cannot close a valve that sticks internally, which is why the part needed to be replaced. If a dishwasher leaks, homeowners can stop the cycle and turn off its water supply if the shutoff is easy to reach. Avoid running it again until the leak has been checked.
